PM Modi inaugurates Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor Project

PM Modi inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor project on Monday. Kashi Vishwanath Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples located in Vishwanath Gali of Varanasi. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated on the western bank of the Ganges River. The project, connecting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to the ghats of the holy Ganges, consists of a paved walkway about 320 meters long and 20 meters wide. It also houses a museum, library, Mukti Graha and a facilitation center for pilgrims. The cost of the scheme is 600 crores. It was launched in March 2018.

Ravinder Bhaker appointed as new chief of CFSI

Ravinder Bhaker on Monday took over the charge of National Film Development Corporation, Film Division and Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI). Last Friday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting had appointed Bhaker as Managing Director of National Film Development Corporation, Director General of Films Division and CEO of Children’s Film Society of India.

Arvind Kumar appointed as Director General of STPI

Arvind Kumar, a former senior advisor to the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRAI), has been appointed as the Director General of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). STPI is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and focuses on building technology and innovation in the country.

Elon Musk named Time magazine’s Person of the Year

Elon Musk, CEO of electric car company ‘Tesla’, has been chosen as the ‘Person of the Year’ by the prestigious Time magazine. The magazine described Musk as a visionary, a source of inspiration, a genius and a brilliant industrialist. Elon Musk is also the founder and CEO of Space-X, a company that organizes space missions.

Harnaaz Sandhu won the title of Miss Universe 2021

Harnath Sandhu, a resident of Mohali, has made the country proud by winning the title of Miss Universe 2021. Earlier Sushmita Sen (1994) and Lara Dutta (2000) had won the title. Harnath Sandhu has become the third Indian to win Miss Universe. Harnaaz, who hails from Mohali, Punjab, achieved this victory by defeating 80 contestants from across the country in this competition held in Israel. The country has got this title after 21 years.
The 70th Miss Universe was announced on 12 December in Israel.
