Coronavirus was also found in dragon fruit

Coronavirus has also been found in dragon fruit in China. These dragon fruits come from Vietnam. Many Chinese supermarkets have been closed since the news broke. Coronavirus has been confirmed in fruit tests in 9 cities in China’s Zhejiang and Jiangxi provinces. China has banned the import of dragon fruit from Vietnam till January 26 after confirmation of coronavirus in dragon fruit.

India-Sri Lanka will jointly develop the Trincomalee oil tank complex

Sri Lanka on Thursday signed an agreement with India for the joint redevelopment of a World War II-era oil storage facility (oil tank farm) in the island nation’s former port district Trincomalee as a bilateral economic and energy partnership.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Sri Lanka by the Finance Secretary, Land Commissioner, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, and local operators of Indian Oil Company, and officials of the newly formed Trinko Petroleum Terminal Limited. At the same time, he said that out of 99 tanks, 85 will now be with Sri Lanka whereas in the past it was under the control of India.


LIC’s assets valued at $463 billion

LIC, the country’s largest life insurance company, has a net worth of 46 463 billion ahead of its IPO launch. LIC’s value is higher than the GDP of many countries in the world, including neighboring Pakistan.
According to media reports, LIC ranks fifth globally in terms of gross written premium, while it ranks tenth in terms of total assets.

Government approval of the second phase of Green Energy Corridor

A cabinet meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The project will create 10750 circuit kilometers of transmission lines in seven states of the country – Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan. Many projects were approved in this meeting. Among these, Phase-II of Intra State Transmission System Green Energy Corridor has also got the approval of the Center today. Union Minister Anurag Thakur informed about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting.
The project will cost around Rs 12000 crore.
