Goa Maritime Conclave organized
The 3rd edition of Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) 2021 is being organized from 7th to 9th November 2021 under the aegis of Naval War College, Goa. GMC is an outreach initiative of the Indian Navy.
The theme of GMC 2021 is Maritime Security and Emerging Non-Traditional Threats-a-Case for Proactive Role for Indian Ocean Region Navies.
Sarah Taylor appointed first female coach of men’s professional franchise cricket
Former England wicket-keeper batsman Sarah Taylor has become the first woman coach in men’s professional franchise cricket. He was named the assistant coach of Team Abu Dhabi for the Abu Dhabi T10 League starting 19 November 2021.
He played 10 Tests, 126 ODIs and 90 T20Is before retiring in 2019. She became the first female specialist coach on a men’s county team with Sussex in the United Kingdom.
Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan takes over Western Naval Command
Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Western Command of the Indian Navy. The Defense Ministry said on Sunday that Vice Admiral Swaminathan took charge on November 4.
Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, who joined the Navy on 1 July 1987, is an expert in communications and electronic warfare. Swaminathan, an alumnus of the National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla, has been awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and the Vishisht Seva Medal.
Djokovic wins 37th Masters 1000 title
World number one tennis player Novak Djokovic surpassed Rafael Nadal (36) to win his 37th career ATP Masters 1000 title. Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev of Russia 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final of the Paris Masters that lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Amit Shah launches ‘Ayushman CAPF’ health card
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that the Central Government has extended the benefit of ‘Ayushman CAPF Health Scheme’ to all Central Armed Police Forces personnel.
This scheme was launched in line with the commitment of the Modi government to ensure the health facilities of CAPF personnel so that they can discharge their duty with full concentration.
