Eligibility Criteria for SBI PO Exam:
To be eligible for the SBI Probationary Officer (PO) exam, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications:
A candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. Those who are in their final year/semester of graduation and awaiting their results are also eligible to apply, provided they can produce the necessary proof of passing the graduation exam at the time of the interview.
Age Limit as of 01/04/2023:
Candidates must be between 21 to 30 years of age as of the specified date mentioned in the official notification i.e. 01/04/2023. Age relaxation is applicable for candidates belonging to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) as per government guidelines.

SBI PO Exam Pattern:
SBI PO Exam consists of three stages as given below:
Preliminary Examination:
This stage has three sections:
- English Language,
- Quantitative Aptitude, and
- Reasoning Ability.
Each section has a specific number of questions and is worth 100 marks in total. You have 60 minutes to complete it.
Main Examination:
The main exam consists of four sections as given below. This is the most important phase of the SBI PO Recruitment process.
- Reasoning and Computer Aptitude,
- Data Analysis and interpretation,
- General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and
- English Language
There’s also a Descriptive Test that includes essay and letter writing. The main exam is out of 250 marks and takes 3 hours to finish.
Interview and Group Exercises:
If you pass the main exam, you’ll proceed to this phase, which carries 30 marks.

The syllabus covers various topics, including:
