List of Most Admired Personalities (World’s Most Admired 2021) released
Data analytics company YouGov on Wednesday released the list of 20 most admired personalities in the world based on its survey. PM Modi is at the eighth place in this list. Apart from this, the names of 5 more Indian personalities are also included in this list.
In the list of 20 most admired men, along with Prime Minister Modi, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has been ranked 12th, actor Shah Rukh Khan at 14th, Indian cinema megastar Amitabh Bachchan at 15th and cricketer Virat Kohli at 18th.
Neeraj Chopra and Mirabai Chanu adjudged the best men’s and women’s sportspersons of the year
The Sports Journalists Federation of India (SJFI) has decided to confer the coveted SJFI Medal on legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar. The decision was taken by the SJFI at the Annual General Meeting in Guwahati.
Tokyo Olympics gold medalist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and silver-winning weightlifter Mirabai Chanu were named the men’s and women’s sportspersons of the year respectively. The men’s hockey team that won the bronze medal in Tokyo was adjudged the best team of the year.
Former US President Barack Obama topped the list of men and his wife Michelle Obama got the first place in the list of women.
According to the company, more than 42000 people from 38 countries took part in this survey conducted this year. Barack Obama was also the first on last year’s list. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at the fourth place in this list of the year 2020 but this year it has come to the eighth place.
UNESCO gives cultural heritage status to Durga Puja
The world famous Durga Puja of Bengal has been given cultural heritage status by UNESCO. The Culture Unit of the United Nations (UNESCO) on Wednesday announced the inclusion of Durga Puja in Bengal in the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
According to information received from the ministry, during the 16th session of the Intergovernmental Committee being held in Paris from December 13 to 18, Durga Puja has been included in UNESCO’s representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The world’s first spacecraft to touch the Sun
The American space agency NASA’s spacecraft ‘Parker Solar Probe’ has done an amazing feat of touching the Sun. NASA launched its ‘Parker Solar Probe’ spacecraft on 12 August 2018. It is part of NASA’s ‘Living with a Star’ program, through which the agency aims to understand and gather information related to different aspects of the system between the Sun-Earth.
America forcibly passed the Prevention of Religion Act
The US has forcibly passed the Prevention of Religion Act to stop the atrocities against Uighur Muslims in China. Under this, goods made of forced labor from China’s Xinjiang have been economically banned, which are sold to America.

Manoj Mukund Naravane appointed as the chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee
Chief of the Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane has been given the charge of the post of Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee (CSC). The post of CSC chairman was lying vacant after the death of Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat. Naravane has been given the charge of this post being the senior most among the three army chiefs.
