PM Modi lays the foundation stone of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. According to an official statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the university has been established at an estimated cost of about Rs 700 crore in the Salwa and Kali villages of the Sardhana town of Meerut.

All India Radio decides to double its broadcast period

The External Services Division (ESD) of All India Radio (AIR) has taken an important decision to strengthen its reach at the international level. Division 6 is going to increase its broadcast in neighboring foreign languages ​​from Monday. These six languages ​​include Dari, Pashto, Baluchi, Mandarin, Nepali, and Tibetan.

According to the statement, from January 3, these 6 languages ​​will be broadcast daily for 1:30 hours in the morning and one and a half hours in the evening. ESD broadcasts programs daily in 17 languages, with the goal of expanding its global reach.

Free Trade Agreement (RCEP) launched

With the start of the new year, the world’s largest free trade agreement has come into force. At present, 10 countries have started implementing the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). These 10 countries are – China, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Countries included in RCEP will give up to 90 percent rebate in duty to each other in the trade of goods. RCEP will open its doors to new members after one and a half year. The only exception to this is India, because the provision has been made that India can be included in it whenever necessary. India was involved in the negotiations of this free trade agreement from the beginning, but later withdrew itself.
